Yesterday the CDC released a statement expanding its requirements for negative COVID-19 tests for all air passengers entering the United States. This order will take effect on January 26, 2021
This is not a ban on international travel, and those who wish to travel may still do so.
Many resorts and other travel providers already provide testing to their guests for a fee. Having testing available at resorts will create less of an obstacle for you and allow you to enjoy your vacation with peace of mind.
Based on your travel plans, I’m happy to provide you with options to get a PCR test before returning.
As vendors establish procedures to meet this requirement, I will update you on any developments that may impact your travel plans.
We are hopeful that these measures will help us all get back to traveling sooner!
This is an update to let you know about an important change for all travelers to Maui, beginning this week! Late yesterday evening the Governor approved Maui Mayor Victorino's request for a mandatory contact tracing requirement for all travelers from both the mainland and inter-island to Maui. Here are the details:
All travelers to Maui, beginning January 19th, must download the AlohaSafe Alert App on their mobile phone before departing for Maui. If a traveler attempts to do so on arrival, it will be too late and quarantine will be required. See our Hawaii Travel Restrictions page for a link to download the contact tracing app, for applicable exemptions, and for additional program/rule information. Please remember, this goes into effect this coming Tuesday - January 19th! We recognize this move will be controversial to some travelers, and we will continue to monitor this new policy closely for any potential changes by either the Maui Mayor, Governor, or State Legislature in the coming days.
